FANCY SHAPES

Wholesale Fancy Shape Natural Diamonds

Oval, cushion, emerald, pear, radiant, princess, marquise and other fancy shapes — natural diamonds from 0.30 to 10+ carats for professional buyers.

Fancy Shapes for Distinctive Jewelry

Fancy shapes give designers and retailers a way to differentiate their collections. Ovals and pears elongate the finger, emerald cuts show clarity and a step-cut character, cushions offer a softer outline, and radiants combine a rectangular shape with brilliant faceting. Each shape has its own proportions, and two stones with the same grades can look very different.

Kether Diamonds sources natural fancy-shaped diamonds according to the outline, dimensions and visual character your design requires.

What to Include in Your Brief

  • Shape, and any preferred cutting style variation
  • Carat weight or range
  • Length and width in millimetres, or a length-to-width ratio range
  • Color and clarity ranges
  • Polish, symmetry and fluorescence preferences
  • Quantity, and whether pairs or matched layouts are required
  • Budget, destination and required date

Length-to-Width Ratio and Measurements

For fancy shapes, the length-to-width ratio is often the most important visual factor. An oval at 1.35 looks very different from an oval at 1.55; a cushion can be close to square or clearly rectangular. We recommend stating a ratio range and the minimum and maximum dimensions whenever a mounting already exists.

Because GIA does not assign an overall cut grade to fancy shapes, polish, symmetry, proportions and visual review carry more weight. Photos and video of the actual stone are important before approval, especially to assess features such as a bow-tie in ovals, pears and marquises.

Individual Stones, Pairs and Parcels

Fancy shapes can be sourced as individual center stones, matched pairs for earrings or side stones, or parcels for production. For pairs, please state the tolerance for differences in weight, dimensions, color and clarity. For parcels, state the size range, total quantity and quality spread.

GIA Grading Reports

Every diamond sold by Kether Diamonds is accompanied by a GIA grading report. The report records GIA’s grading observations for the submitted stone, including carat weight, color, clarity and, for round brilliants, cut grade, together with measurements, polish, symmetry and fluorescence. Buyers can verify the report details through GIA’s official Report Check service before approving a purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which fancy shapes do you source?
Oval, cushion, emerald, pear, radiant, princess, marquise, Asscher, heart and other natural fancy shapes from 0.30 to 10+ carats.

Why does the length-to-width ratio matter?
It controls the outline of the stone. The same shape at different ratios can look slim and elongated or short and wide, so the ratio should match the design.

Can I see the actual stone before approving?
Available photos and video of the actual stone are presented with the grading information, so the outline and light performance can be reviewed before approval.

Do fancy shapes receive a GIA cut grade?
No. GIA assigns a cut grade only to standard round brilliants. For fancy shapes, polish, symmetry, proportions and visual review are especially important.
