Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about GIA grading reports, natural diamond sourcing, international service and important market considerations.

GIA & DOCUMENTATION

Understanding the Report

Are all diamonds sold by Kether Diamonds accompanied by a GIA grading report?

Yes. Every diamond sold by Kether Diamonds is accompanied by a grading report issued by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), documenting the stone’s assessed characteristics.

Is a GIA grading report the same as a certificate?

The term “certificate” is commonly used in the market, but GIA describes its document as a grading report. GIA independently grades and documents a diamond’s characteristics; it does not certify or guarantee the diamond.

Can a GIA report be checked online?

Yes. The report number can be entered in GIA Report Check to compare the online record with the information shown on the grading report.

What information appears in a GIA diamond grading report?

Depending on the report type, it may include carat weight, color, clarity, cut information, measurements, proportions, polish, symmetry, fluorescence, plotted characteristics and comments.

MARKET & INVESTMENT CONSIDERATIONS

Risk-Aware Guidance

Are diamonds guaranteed to increase in value?

No. Diamond prices can change, resale markets vary and liquidity is not guaranteed. Kether Diamonds does not promise returns, appreciation or a future resale price.

What can affect a diamond’s resale value and liquidity?

Factors may include the stone’s characteristics, rarity, grading documentation, condition, market demand, transaction costs and the available sales channel. A resale price may be lower than the original purchase price.

Does Kether Diamonds provide financial advice?

No. Information about investment-oriented diamonds is educational and sourcing-focused. Buyers should obtain independent financial, tax and legal advice where appropriate.
