Cut
Cut refers to how well a diamond’s facets interact with light — not the shape, but the precision of the angles and proportions. Excellent cut grades produce maximum brilliance and fire. Cut is considered the most critical of the 4Cs for visual impact.
🎨
Colour
Diamond colour is graded on a D-to-Z scale, where D is completely colourless and Z shows visible yellow or brown tint. Colourless diamonds (D–F) are among the rarest within the D-to-Z range. Fancy coloured diamonds are assessed on a separate scale.
🔬
Clarity
Clarity measures the presence of internal characteristics (inclusions) and surface features (blemishes). Grades range from Flawless (FL) to Included (I3). Whether a diamond appears eye-clean depends on the individual stone, viewing conditions and the location of its characteristics.

Carat
Carat is the unit of measurement for a diamond’s weight — one carat equals 0.2 grams. Larger stones are generally rarer, but price is influenced by the complete combination of cut, colour, clarity, carat weight and current market conditions.

A GIA grading report documents the diamond’s graded characteristics under controlled laboratory conditions. Every diamond we supply is accompanied by a GIA grading report, giving buyers consistent independent documentation. Review the grading report alongside the physical stone before making a purchasing decision.

Natural vs Lab-Grown
Natural diamonds are formed over billions of years in the earth’s mantle. Lab-grown diamonds are produced in weeks in a factory. Natural and lab-grown diamonds have different origins and market characteristics. Kether Diamonds deals exclusively in natural diamonds.

READING A GIA GRADING REPORT

What a GIA Report
Documents.

A GIA grading report can include the stone’s unique report number, shape and cutting style, measurements, carat weight, colour grade, clarity grade and cut grade where applicable. Depending on the report type, it may also document fluorescence, polish, symmetry and a clarity diagram. The report number can be checked using GIA Report Check.
