Cut
Cut refers to how well a diamond’s facets interact with light — not the shape, but the precision of the angles and proportions. Excellent cut grades produce maximum brilliance and fire. Cut is considered the most critical of the 4Cs for visual impact.
🎨
Colour
Diamond colour is graded on a D-to-Z scale, where D is completely colourless and Z shows visible yellow or brown tint. Colourless diamonds (D–F) are the rarest and most valuable in white diamonds. Fancy coloured diamonds are assessed on a separate scale.
🔬
Clarity
Clarity measures the presence of internal characteristics (inclusions) and surface features (blemishes). Grades range from Flawless (FL) to Included (I3). Most inclusions are invisible to the naked eye — VS2 and SI1 stones often appear perfectly clean under normal viewing conditions.
⚖️
Carat
Carat is the unit of measurement for a diamond’s weight — one carat equals 0.2 grams. Larger diamonds are rarer and therefore command a price premium per carat. A 2ct diamond of equal quality is worth significantly more than twice the price of a 1ct stone.

Certification
A certificate from GIA, IGI, or HRD documents the 4Cs assessment under controlled laboratory conditions. Every stone we supply is certified — giving buyers a reliable, independent quality guarantee. Never purchase a significant diamond without a laboratory certificate.

Natural vs Lab-Grown
Natural diamonds are formed over billions of years in the earth’s mantle. Lab-grown diamonds are produced in weeks in a factory. While chemically identical, they hold very different market value — natural diamonds maintain long-term value; lab-grown diamonds have seen prices fall significantly since 2020.

READING A CERTIFICATE

What Your
Certificate Tells You.

A GIA certificate includes the stone’s unique report number (also laser-inscribed on the girdle), shape and cutting style, measurements in millimetres, carat weight, colour grade, clarity grade, cut grade, and a diagram showing the location of any inclusions. It also includes fluorescence, polish, and symmetry grades. The report number can be verified directly on the GIA website.
